FAECTOR Research Project
The FAECTOR Research Project (FRP) is the most exciting international study trip that has been a longstanding event organised by FAECTOR's FRP committee. This trip (actually more of a journey) is focused on ambitious second-year students of Econometrics (and third year BSc2 students) that are interested in widening and enriching the perspective of their study.
This study project consists of two parts. The first part is a research internship at companies that are interesting for econometricians, which will be arranged by FAECTOR's FRP committee. Think about companies within logistics, finance or marketing like Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS), de Nederlandse Bank and T-Mobile. The students will solve a research question given by the company. Under supervision of a contact within that company and a professor from the Econometric Institute from Erasmus University Rotterdam the selected students have to write a research report about the research that they have done at the company. This report is a good exercise for their Bachelor thesis which they have to write a few months after their internship.
After the valuable working experience they will be rewarded with an amazing trip that ventures to a place outside the European Union every year. On this trip the focus lies on experiencing cultural activities, absorbing all of the famous and unique locations, companies and local universities the destination has to offer. Students will gain experience in econometrics on an international level to give them a broader perspective on corporate cultures and to gain international contacts. Previous destinations included Shanghai, Tokyo, Boston, Toronto, New York and Rio de Janeiro.
