As the Educational Officer of the 55th board of FAECTOR, you will be responsible for the educational events, the representation of FAECTOR within Erasmus University Rotterdam and the international aspect of the association. Some of the main responsibilities include the Excellence Programme, the FAECTOR Research Project (FRP), the Orientation Days and the Workshop Cycle.
You could see the position of Educational Officer as a Project Manager, as taking care of all educational events will be the most time-consuming task. This doesn’t mean that you will organize the projects on your own as you will also supervise committees that will help you with these tasks. As you have several projects ranging from setting up de Excellence Programme to organising the FRP trip, your work has a lot of variation which makes this position far from boring!
You will also get in contact with a lot of different people. An Educational Officer has lots of contact with the university, the professors and other study- or student associations. Through different committees you will also have a lot of contact with students, from first year students, because you are supervising the Freshmen Committee, to Master students. However, you are also in contact with many companies. For example, you will contact and visit different companies for the Workshop Cycle, the Excellence Programme and the FAECTOR Research Project.
Of course, a board year is much more than just organizing all those events. You will learn how to work together in a group, you will develop many social skills and you will make friends for a lifetime!
