In order to participate in the Best Econometric Thesis Award your thesis must be completed between August 2016 and August 2017. Besides, your thesis must be written for one of the four Master specialisations of the econometrics programme in Rotterdam:
- Business Analytics & Quantitative Marketing
- Operations Research & Quantitative Logistics
- Quantitative Finance
Together with your full thesis, you have to hand in an executive summary of your thesis with a maximum of a 3500 words. The Master Coordinators will nominate one student per Master specialisation, so in total four students will be nominated. These students will present their thesis during the βETA ceremony and the executive summaries will be published in our journal, the βETA MET. During the βETA ceremony the best Master thesis will be selected by the jury, consisting of professors and a representative from Veneficus. Last year the winner of the βETA was awarded with a prize of €1000. Besides the grand prize, the other nominees received a prize of €200 and there was an award worth €200 for the presentation that is most loved by the audience.
