DESCRIPTION:Are you a highly motivated and academically well-performing stu
 dent? Are you a second-year or higher bachelor or pre-master's student in 
 one of the Econometrics programmes? Then the FAECTOR Excellence Programme\
 , organized in cooperation with the Erasmus School of Economics\, might be
  something for you! The Excellence Programme is a yearly extracurricular p
 rogramme that challenges students to apply their econometric knowledge wit
 hin a subject not treated in the regular curriculum. This is done through 
 guest lectures\, workshops and essays. Besides this\, the programme is a g
 reat way to boost your CV! This year’s topic is Econometrics and Geopoli
 tics. In these turbulent times\, where new geopolitical tensions seem to b
 e emerging from everywhere\, decisive action is essential. The everlasting
  rise of economic tensions\, the influx of migrants fleeing misery and war
 \, and heated political elections are driving us to a potential collapse o
 f the current societal model that we live in. This is where our field of E
 conometrics comes into play. Being the basis of decision making in various
  sectors\, from politics to healthcare\, Econometrics provides students wi
 th the necessary knowledge to make a change in the world and to stabilise 
 international relationships. With this topic\, we aim to spark a healthy d
 ebate about\, and emphasise the societal impact of econometrics in politic
 s\, economic stability\, and changes in the demographics of a country. For
