What is Econometrics?
Within the Econometrics and Operations Research Bachelor programme students learn how to solve problems in economics or in business by means of mathematical techniques. It enables you to take on complex issues like:
- How will the price of energy and commodities evolve over the coming years?
- How can queue times in hospitals be reduced?
- How is advertising in online media best combined with offline media?
- How can public transport planning be improved?
So, in Econometrics you apply mathematical and statistical techniques to help answer economic questions. A Bachelor in Econometrics takes 3 years and a double Bachelor in Econometrics & Economics takes 4 years. This double Bachelor is a special programme in which students will obtain 2 Bachelor diplomas in 4 years instead of 6 years.
