Besides career and social events, FAECTOR has some educational events and projects. During these events and projects, students are able to orientate and develop themselves in various ways and learn how to apply their study skills in practice.
The Orientation Days consist of four separate days, where a professor explains more about the different Master specialisations within Econometrics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Subsequently, a company operating within that specific field will show what the respective specialisation means in practice.
Throughout the year, several workshops are organised as part of FAECTOR's Workshop Cycle. Some of the previous workshops include a Bloomberg, Python and Derivative Trading workshops. These workshops are given both by academic professionals as well as experts from companies and can be a nice way of getting in touch with students to create brand awareness.
The Excellence Programme is an extracurricular programme for highly-motivated and well-performing students. Over the course of six months, the students will attend several lectures, workshops, inhousedays and other educational trips to broaden their knowledge of econometrics within a specific theme. Themes in previous years included amongst others Econometrics & Health, Econometrics & Cybersecurity and Econometrics & Climate. Companies operating within the field of subject that have econometric knowledge or applications to share with the students are often invited to join the programme and host a guest lecture, workshop or inhouse visit.
